Privacy Policy

SideVC ("we," "us," or "our") operates SideCV (the "Service"), available at https://www.sidecv.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Service, including when you sign in with Google.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide — Account and profile information, including when you use email and password or other sign-in methods. Resumes, cover letters, job descriptions, interview or coaching inputs, and other content you create or upload. When you purchase a paid plan, payments are processed by our payment provider (e.g. Stripe). We do not store your full card number; we receive limited billing status and transaction references as needed to provide the Service.
1.2 Information from Google (Sign in with Google)— If you choose "Sign in with Google," Google shares certain information with us through the authentication flow, which typically includes, depending on your Google account and consent: your name, email address, profile picture URL, and a unique identifierfor your Google account. We use this to create and secure your account and to show your profile in the app. We do not receive your Google password. Google's privacy policy describes Google's own practices; we do not control how Google processes your data on Google's services.
1.3 Automatically collected information — Technical and usage data (device type, browser, IP address, general location from IP, timestamps, and Service interactions) for security, analytics, and improvement. Cookies and similar technologies (including session tokens) as needed to keep you signed in and operate the Service.
1.4 AI processing — To provide features such as resume coaching, matching, and related tools, we may send parts of your content to AI providers (e.g. OpenAI) to generate responses. Do not submit information you are not comfortable having processed in this way.
2. How we use information
We use the information above to provide, maintain, and improve the Service; authenticate you; communicate about your account, security, and updates; process payments and subscriptions; prevent fraud and abuse; comply with law; and analyze usage in aggregate or de-identified form where appropriate.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers who help us run the Service, including authentication and database hosting (e.g. Supabase), payment processing (e.g. Stripe), and AI providers (e.g. OpenAI) as described above. We may share with professional advisers when necessary, and with authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security. Our providers use your information to provide their services to us, subject to their terms and our agreements.
International transfers — Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. We use measures we believe are appropriate to protect your information consistent with this Policy and applicable law.
4. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account or certain data by contacting us at [email protected]. Some information may be retained in backups for a limited period or where the law requires.
5. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected]. You may also manage connected sign-in methods in your account where available, and in your Google Account (myaccount.google.com).
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Children
The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe we have done so.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy and will post the new version on this page with an updated date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (e.g. email or in-app message).
